 Director General of the global IOM, Mr. William Lacy Swing visited Helsinki on 13 October 2011. His visit to Helsinki included a keynote speech in an International Seminar "Migration and Communication: Re-balancing information flows and dialogue", bilateral meetings with Finnish Ministries' representatives, a visit to the IOM Helsinki office, as well as IOM 60th Anniversary celebrations.The high-level expert seminar on Migration and Communication was organized jointly by the Inter Press Service IPS, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, and the International Organization for Migration IOM. Two different viewpoints on the topic of Migration and Communication were particularly emphasized in the seminar:
