IOM and the Agenda 2030

Migration and development are closely linked and well-managed migration plays a big role in and gives an immense contribution to sustainable development.

The Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, the follow-up to the largely successful Millennium Development Goals, is wide-ranging and ambitious, but IOM Finland is focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – and what links them to migration. Migration is included for the first time in the global development framework.

IOM is a part of the United Nations  since September 2016 we are the UN Migration Agency.
