IOM Suomi on julkaissut lyhyen oppaan, jonka tarkoituksena on auttaa työnantajia ja yrityksiä ymmärtämään ihmiskauppaa ilmiönä, tunnistamaan sen merkkejä ja ennaltaehkäisemään ihmiskaupan riskiä kausityössä.

IOM rose from the ashes of World War Two 65 years ago. In the battle-scarred continent of Europe, no government alone could help survivors who wanted no more than an opportunity to resume their lives in freedom and with dignity. The first incarnation of IOM was created to resettle refugees during this post-war period.


What is the price of a human being? -campaign

Finland - IOM Helsinki has launched a new counter trafficking public information campaign: “What is the price of a human being?”

Human trafficking in Finland includes labour exploitation and sexual abuse. Reported victims have been both Finnish and foreign nationals.

“The campaign aims to educate the citizens, especially youth about human trafficking and to inform people about responsible consumerism to reduce demand. Raising awareness is key to identify victims,” said IOM Helsinki campaign coordinator Tuija von der Pütten.



  • Launch of guide on recognizing victims of trafficking

     IOM Finland will launch an guide for social workers and health professionals on recognizing victims of trafficking on January 23rd. The Minister of   the Interior Paula Risikko will be opening the lauch event.

    IOM Finland in November organized an afternoon of discussion with civil society actors to open up for a dialogue on Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration.

  • Iraq is the biggest country of voluntary return from Finland

     In November 119 persons chose to return to their countries of origin from Finland through IOM's programme for Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR). Of these 90 persons returned to Iraq.

  • Film Festival Time: The Journey

    YK-kino ja Global Migration Film Festival esittävät maanantaina 20.11.2017 klo 18.00 Kino Andorrassa, Helsingissä Matthew Casselin dokumentin ”The Journey” yhteistyössä Suomen YK-liiton kanssa. Dokumentissa seurataan syyrialaisen pakolaisen Aboud Shalhoubin yli 2700 kilometrin pituista matkaa Eurooppaan ja sen halki. Samalla keskustellaan siirtolaisuudesta Euroopasta ja Eurooppaan ennen ja nyt.
